“Clothes are inevitable. They are nothing less than the furniture of the mind made visible.”
- James Laver
I studied a B. Soc. Sci. Psychology & Organisational Psychology from the University of Cape Town (2001-2003), completed Master I & II training at Consciousness Coaching International (2008), The Landmark Forum in 2015 and I have twice sat Vipassana in 2008 and 2015. After university I travelled and worked in England from 2004 – 2005 and indulged my love of fashion and polished my famous shopping skills.
I then worked as Marketing & Sales Manager for KLûK CGDT from 2005 – 2007 and learnt the art of relationship marketing and brand development in the luxury goods sector and the less glamorous business administration elements. Two years later, I was mentored in personal styling by the renowned fashion commentator Robyn Cooke.
I have styled innumerable men and women based in Cape Town and Johannesburg who range from mums and dads to young professionals, to captains of industry, to local celebrities like:
Jo-Ann Strauss, Jeannie Dee, Ryk Neethling, Nicky Greenwall, Tamara Dey, Michelle Mc Clean, Dr Precious Moloi Motsepe, Vanashree Singh, singer Loyiso, Saskia Falken, Katlego Maboe and Elana Afrika.
I served as Business Manager for Tretchikoff Renaissance in 2008 and Plascon Trends Blog Editor from 2012 to 2015 and partnered with Karien Belle in 2012, to create my first retail offering. And all the while I have continued to work as a personal stylist and expand my portfolio to include commercial stills styling for Virgin, The V&A Waterfront, Mimosa Mall, Tyger Valley Shopping Centre, Old Mutual, Martini, Bacardi & Val de Vie.
In the last decade I have appeared in several publications (Elle Decoration, Plascon Spaces, The Sunday Independent, Fair Lady, Oprah, YOU Makeovers, Passport, Get It, Die Burger, Sarie, Die Beeld), ETV’s Style Report, Morning Espresso, Afternoon Espresso and Heart 104.9fm radio…
